WARRINGTON CAT CENTRE TO OPEN UP FOR PUBLIC VOLUNTEERS

CATS Protection’s centre in Warrington will open its doors for public volunteers as part of celebrations for the King’s coronation.
The celebrations form part of the Big Help Out, on Monday, May 8, which is a bank holiday in honour of the coronation.
The day involves communities across the country pulling together during the bank holiday.
Cats Protection will open its centre’s doors in Warrington to allow volunteers to come along and see some of the vital work performed at the centre.
It will give volunteers the chance to assist with the work performed at the centre, as well as give the opportunity to help some of the animals ‘get back on their paws.’
Centre manager Lindsay Kerr said: “The centre relies on its team of volunteers who come in and perform a wide range of jobs to help cats get back on their paws.
“There are so many jobs that need doing to ensure cats and kittens are kept healthy, including mammoth laundry loads, continuous maintenance and cleaning, as well as keeping the cats company.
“We are so grateful to everyone who gives up their time to help in the running of the centre, and this open day is to thank those already volunteering and hopefully show other cat-lovers how rewarding volunteering can be.”
There will be lots of tea and cake on offer throughout the event, along with a tombola and other fun stalls for all the family.
Visitors to the centre can get involved in activities designed to showcase the essential work volunteers get involved in, from washing the cat van to filling a litter tray or preparing care packs used in the isolation wing.
The event will take place at Cats Protection Warrington, off Elizabeth Drive, Padgate, between 11am and 3pm on Monday, May 8.
