As any pet owner knows, your fur baby is your world, and keeping them happy and healthy is normally number one on your priority list. For most of us, this means new toys on birthdays and the occasional treat snuck off a dinner plate. For some cat owners, though, this means all-out pampering.

From business cards and bar-hopping to daily massages complete with rose quartz crystals, these cat mums take caring for their kittens to a whole new level. We sat down with them – and their cats – to discover all the ways they spoil their feline friends, along with what makes them so very unique.

Lilo and owner Emily

On Lilo’s taste for adventure…

“Lilo loves to live the socialite life. She comes everywhere with me and enjoys making new friends, whether that’s shopping on the King’s Road or going for cocktails at her favourite skyline bar. She recently stole the hearts of the staff at a Cartier boutique!”

On Lilo’s eating quirks…

“She is a lover of all things green. Lilo’s favourite food is broccoli, which she steals from our plates. Aside from that, she enjoys munching on Purina ONE kibble. She’s got a sensitive stomach and it’s formulated to keep her gut health in check, which is great. Oh, and she’ll also only drink water out of a glass.”

On Lilo’s active social life…

“We visit the bars and restaurants of Battersea Power Station so often, she’s become a local celebrity. Like all London ‘It girls’, Lilo is the queen of self-promotion. She gets endless attention wherever she goes and always plays up to a crowd. She even has her own business cards so that the people she meets can keep up with her adventures on Instagram.”

Coko and owner Fun

On what makes Coko unique…

“She’s beautiful – particularly with her Persian tail and green, yellow and turquoise eyes. Coko’s also missing three toe beans, but she still lives a very happy and healthy life.”

On Coko’s intricate grooming routine…

“Every day begins with a long session of cuddles, hand holding and strokes. Then comes balcony time – she loves interacting with the birds in kitty-cat chatter. Breakfast is next, followed by some grooming. This includes a paw massage with her rose quartz crystal set – all while listening to calm-inducing 432Hz music – as well as getting her teeth brushed, ears cleaned and fur combed. She also loves a warm shower, which is highly unusual and often scary for a cat. However, it calms her.”

On Coko’s food habits…

“She likes to choose from a selection of food, so I always put down three bowls for her to graze on. She’s a bit of a foodie really – she loves trying new foods, like prawns, salmon and even boiled eggs. On special occasions, Coko is treated to Purina in a crystal dessert bowl, alongside a piece of boiled fish or chicken and some cat treats. She loves it!”

Frost and owner Izzy

On what makes Frost so special…

“I rescued Frost from a shelter in Spain when he was just six months old. He has overcome a lot of adversity but he’s still a really happy and responsive cat.”

On Frost’s grooming routine…

“Frost loves to be groomed – he just can’t get enough of it and has often been known to fall asleep during pamper time. (I don’t know many cats who would do that, but Frost loves the attention.) The most glamorous part of his day is probably being groomed by his housemate Fluke, our flat-coated retriever. It’s like having his own personal beautician.”

On what makes Frost happiest…

“He loves cuddles with his human and the other animals in the household. He can get upset if he doesn’t get enough human cuddles. Frost is like a feline boomerang; he always comes back for more and never leaves my side. I also feed him Purina ONE; it’s the healthy choice and he loves the taste.”
