Mischief is becoming a global superstar as his adventures around Plymouth go viral on TikTok.

Cats are known for their independent nature, often coming and going as they please, exploring the neighborhood and visiting neighbors’ gardens.

But one particularly adventurous cat from Plymouth has taken roaming to a whole new level. This curious feline, named Mischief, has been venturing for miles, stopping by pubs, supermarkets, a school, and even the city’s naval base.

Mischief’s explorations have captured the hearts of locals for years, but after a TikTok video featuring his adventures went viral, amassing over 6 million views, he’s now gaining fans from around the globe.

New fans from outside the UK have joined the “Mischief’s Adventures in Plymouth” group, with one follower from Texas saying she’ll “keep her eyes peeled” in case Mischief decides to stow away on a ship. Other fans tracking his journey come from places like California, Phoenix, and even Switzerland.

Mischief has even made headlines in the U.S., with WIVB News in Buffalo, New York, covering his escapades.

His growing fanbase has created a map of his travels, and it’s clear—Mischief really gets around!

True to his name, Mischief was once spotted roaming the grounds of Devonport High School for Boys, where he wandered into a Year 7 science class, much to the students’ delight.

In another video, students at City College Plymouth are seen playing with Mischief, with one student asking, “Oh look, he followed us. Can we keep him?”

Mischief also showed his support for a local netball team, with one player sharing on Facebook: “He greeted our team at netball tonight. He’s such a lovely, friendly cat. A wonderful way to start our training!”

Plymouth local Phoebe Margaret wasn’t even aware of Mischief’s celebrity status when she found the cat sitting in the front seat of her car in May last year.

“This was him trying to hitchhike in my car on Millbridge this morning. Had to pretend I had some treats to lure him out,” she wrote.

Mischief has also been seen prowling the aisles of Plymouth’s supermarkets and newsagents and searching for building supplies at a local Jewsons.

Ever the style-icon, the cat has also been spotted outside the Ray-Ban shop in Plymouth’s Drake Circus shopping centre.

Mischief has been spotted mingling with locals at several Plymouth pubs, Ladbrokes bookmakers, and even a Slimming World meeting.

He’s made himself comfortable in other people’s living rooms, at the Post Office, and is even believed to have visited a vet all on his own.

This wandering feline has also managed to sneak into Plymouth’s naval base on two occasions—presumably without the need for security clearance.

While Mischief has become a beloved figure in Plymouth, his adventurous spirit sometimes lands him in trouble.

In 2023, his owner, Tonie Blackmore, told the Plymouth Herald that she has to “ground” him occasionally when he strays too far, but Mischief clearly prefers to keep moving.

“I have to remind him that he has a home. He’ll sit by the blinds, looking salty because he can’t go out,” Blackmore shared. “I came back from the shop the other day, and his whole head was hanging out the kitchen blind.”

She added, “I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to pick him up. I must do it at least once or twice a fortnight!”
