If photos of your pet get more ‘likes’ than you do on social media, you might want to head to a brand new photo station that’s exclusively for dogs.

London’s Leadenhall Market has launched the UK’s first dog photo booth pop up – and it’s completely free to use.

The historic Victorian covered market – with it’s ornate 19th-century painted roof and cobbled floors – is celebrating its dog-friendly policy for visitors by launching ‘Dogstagram’ on Wednesday, September 22.

To mark the occasion, acclaimed food, travel and lifestyle photographer David Loftus shared some photos of his dog Digby (an Instagram influencer in his own right) posing in the photobooth and enjoying the iconic market.

Other dog social media stars, including Puggy Smalls, Pop Sausage and Pomegranate took part in a photoshoot in the pop up too.

The booths will be available for pet owners to visit every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday until October 9, from 12pm until 8pm, at 13-15 Leadenhall Market. And you don’t even need to book – just turn up.

With four photo stations with different backdrops to choose from – including ‘Jurassic Bark’, ‘Flower Pooch Patch’ and ‘Puparazzi Ready’ – with props for your pup too, your pictures are bound to be a hit.

If you think your dog’s pictures are top notch, owners are being invited to enter them into a competition on Instagram by including the hashtag #Leadenhalldogstagram. The winner will be chosen by Loftus and the prize will be a Barbour dog jacket, collar and lead, along with luxury dog treats.

Many more Londoners became dog owners during lockdown and Leadenhall’s outdoor spaces, cobbled streets and many shops and restaurants, welcome the four-legged pets. You can even find dog-friendly beer, Woof & Brew Bottom Sniffer, at The Lamb pub.
