For many dog owners, their beloved companion is more than just a pet, making it heart-wrenching to leave them behind when going on holiday. Cwtch Animal Homestay, nestled in the picturesque Cwmbran countryside, offers the ideal solution with their Luxury Dog Hotel.

This haven is designed to provide a staycation experience for your furry friend, allowing them to enjoy their own holiday while you embark on yours. The family-operated business, established in 2021 initially as secure dog fields, responded to increasing popularity and demand by expanding into providing boarding facilities through the Luxury Dog Hotel.

Jesse Rendell, a co-founder of Cwtch Animal Homestay alongside his mother, stepfather, and girlfriend, shared the motivation behind launching the Luxury Dog Hotel. He expressed, “With our extensive 29-acre property featuring streams and woodlands, combined with our genuine care and affection for dogs, many people urged us to consider offering boarding services. Their encouragement led us to seriously consider opening the Luxury Dog Hotel.”

“As fellow dog owners, we fully comprehend the apprehension and hesitation that comes with leaving your beloved canine behind when embarking on a holiday. For many, a dog is more than just a pet; they’re cherished members of the family, receiving care and attention akin to any human relative. We recognize the anxiety and guilt that can weigh on owners while they’re away, fretting over their dog’s well-being. Our aim was to create a place where you can entrust your dog, knowing they’re enjoying a holiday of their own while you embark on yours.”

The Luxury Dog Hotel aims to be a home away from home for the dogs, to ensure that they have the best time. Jesse said: “Rather than having your dog being in their kennel our facility allows the guests who are staying to have a day made up of a variety of different activities, which mainly involves them not being in their kennels.

Following a log cabin, farmhouse style the Luxury Dog Hotel has private rooms, underfloor heating, an indoor enrichment area and three outdoor enrichment areas. The dogs have total free roam of the hotel.

Jesse described the atmosphere, stating, “Upon entering, it feels akin to a place you’d choose for your own stay… Our setup prioritizes providing guests with a homely environment. The facility itself is purposefully designed to resemble a farmhouse, featuring an open-plan kitchen and living room adorned with sofas, loungers, dog beds, and even a cozy log burner. Guests staying with us have the freedom to roam throughout our hotel’s designated areas.”

Daily and weekly schedules are established to ensure the pooches enjoy a fantastic stay at the hotel, receiving excellent care. Jesse elaborated, “Our daily routine strikes a balance between mental stimulation, physical activity, human interaction, relaxation, and socialization with other dogs. Mornings may consist of invigorating woodland walks or playful sessions in our secure parks with newfound friends, while afternoons could be spent lounging by the cozy log burner, perhaps watching movies together.”

The Luxury Dog Hotel is proving to be very popular with 30-minute tours of the hotel selling out in 45 minutes. Jesse said: “That gave us a boost of confidence… the reaction has been great, we’ve had lots and lots of support of everyone… We couldn’t have asked for any more positivity or support.”

Jesse expressed his excitement about Cwtch Animal Homestay’s expansion, remarking, “It’s incredibly thrilling; we’ve harbored dreams of establishing our own facility for quite some time… We’re immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished and eager to share it with others. We’re thrilled to offer dogs in the area and beyond the chance to experience and enjoy what we’ve created.”

The Luxury Dog Hotel opens on Saturday, June 1st for a week of open days and is taking bookings from Saturday, June 8.
