Demand for dogs has surged in recent years, causing prices for certain breeds to skyrocket.

Many people have welcomed new puppies into their families recently, with the Kennel Club reporting record levels of dog ownership. Approximately one in three households now includes a four-legged friend.

However, the heightened demand for popular breeds has driven up prices significantly. A dog will likely cost much more today than it did just two years ago.

Research from the pet experts at Pets4Homes reveals that the average price of a puppy in the UK is now a substantial £1,875—more than double the average price in 2019. Some breeds can cost nearly £3,000 on average.

Here are the 10 most expensive dog breeds in the UK.

The English Bulldog is the UK’s most expensive dog, with puppies selling for an average of £2,995.

2. Cavapoo

The Cavapoo – a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle – is the runner-up when it comes to pricey dog breeds, with an average price of £2,949.
