We might be physically distanced from friends and family, but the coronavirus pandemic still has a strange way of bringing us together – whether it’s the community clapping for carers or a weekly pub quiz over Zoom.

For one family, lockdown has brought together a cat and corgi who are now the best of friends. When Gilbert, a three-year-old ragdoll cat, was introduced to Lucy, a three-month-old corgi, the pair had an instant connection.

‘Gilbert, grew up roughhousing with a dog,’ said their owner Adam Kopley, 34, of Chicago, Illinois.

‘As soon as Lucy came home, he watched her for like 30 minutes. Since then, they’ve been playing nonstop.’

The pals now spend their days playing together and snuggling up to watch the world go by.

Adam is sharing videos of the duo’s adventures in lockdown to bring joy to people amid the pandemic.

‘They’re 100% friends,’ says Adam. ‘We got our work from home orders on March 10th and I anticipated being home for a while.

‘I thought this was a great opportunity to get Lucy house broken. ‘We’re all hanging out nonstop together. It’s the only thing keeping me sane right now.’
