Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has shared one of her loves that has helped her get through self-isolation and lockdown. This week Camilla took part in her first-ever radio guest edit on The Emma Barnett Show on BBC Radio Five, when she spoke for three hours.
She has spent the past few months at home with her husband Prince Charles and their two dogs, and spoke about spending lockdown with them on Tuesday’s show.
Camilla told Emma: “The nice thing about dogs is you can sit them down, you could have a nice long conversation, you could be cross, you could be sad, and they just sit looking at you wagging their tail!”
A picture of Camilla was also shared on the Clarence House Instragram account ahead of the interview, presumably taken by Charles, of her walking one of her beloved dogs on the Balmoral Estate – a frequent job for the Duchess of the last few months.
Royal fans loved seeing a glimpse of the duchess in lockdown and agreed with her about the joy of dogs, with many commenting.
One user said: “This is very nice photo! I love the Duchess and her dog.”
Camilla rehomed her two pups, Beth and Bluebell, from Battersea Cats and Dogs Home in London several years ago.
Camilla was named Royal Patron of Battersea earlier this year – she said at the time she hoped “I will be a patron of Battersea as long as I am standing.”
“Battersea has long considered The Duchess of Cornwall to be a very close and dear friend and a huge supporter of our work, so it’s absolutely wonderful to now welcome Her Royal Highness as our new Royal Patron,” chief executive Claire Horton said in a statement on the charity’s website.
“Having rehomed two Battersea dogs, Beth and Bluebell, and visited us on numerous occasions, we feel The Duchess is already part of our special Battersea family.
