Is your favourite on there?
The 20 most popular dog breeds in the UK in 2020 have been revealed as part of Rover’s annual research — and mixed breed pups have taken the top spot.
From mixed breeds to purebreds, the team at Rover analysed their database of over 20,000 pet owners to learn more about the UK’s favourite breeds. While mixed breeds were crowned the most popular, the research also found that Labrador Retrievers and Cocker Spaniels are also rising stars.
Speaking about mixed breed dogs, a spokesperson for Rover explains why they are so popular. “Often hardy and always unique, mixed breed dogs continually top lists of the most popular dog types in the UK. There’s a mixed pup out there for just about everyone!”
Thea Mathias, pet trends expert, also adds: “These days we’re more likely to think of dogs as family members than pets. We confide in our pets, snuggle with our pets and exercise with our pets. Fortunately, there’s a dog out there for everyone, whether you’re looking for a companion for yourself, your family, or for your other pets.”
